WHY SAXONY LOOKS SO RICH AND BEAUTIFUL
"Ever noticed how some carpets just look... richer?
That's Saxony. The way it's made - with thousands of little fibers standing upright - means it catches the light differently throughout the day. It's a bit like velvet on your floor. This gives your room a depth and warmth that makes everything else look better too."
WHAT MAKES GOOD SAXONY DIFFERENT FROM CHEAP SAXONY
"Not all Saxony is the same!
Better quality Saxony is actually packed with way more fibers - we're talking thousands more in every square meter.
What does that mean for you?
- Colors look richer - like the difference between a faded photo and a vibrant one
- It stays looking gorgeous longer - think 10+ years looking fresh, not just 3
- Bounce-back - it doesn't flatten down where people walk
- It actually adds value to your home when you come to sell
It's the difference between 'that'll do' and 'wow, that looks expensive'."
WHY THE PROS CHOOSE IT
"Here's a little secret,
When interior designers are creating show homes or styling those beautiful hotel suites, they almost always choose Saxony. Why? Because it makes everything else in the room look more expensive.
Think about it - you wouldn't put a beautiful painting in a cheap frame, would you? Your furniture, your carefully chosen paint colors, your lovely curtains... they all deserve flooring that shows them off properly. That's what Saxony does."

There is a point in every showroom visit where someone steps onto a Luxury Saxony carpet for the first time and just stops. Not because they're thinking about it. Because their feet did the thinking for them.
That moment is waiting for you. Come in, walk across the range in person and see what a floor that's been chosen by designers, specifiers and show home stylists for decades actually feels like underfoot. Not sure where to start? That's exactly what we are here for — just come in and we'll guide you through everything.
The professionals always choose Saxony. Come in and find out why.
The Questions We Get Asked Most
Every room begins with the floor.
Does the pile flatten over time and is there anything I can do about it?
Some pile compression in the most heavily used areas is natural with any deep pile carpet over time — but a quality Saxony handles it far better than a cheaper alternative. The heat-set twist in premium Saxony yarn gives the pile a memory that helps it recover, particularly in areas that aren't under constant compression. Regular vacuuming lifts the pile and keeps it looking fresh, and a professional clean every twelve to eighteen months will restore the appearance significantly. Using felt pads under furniture legs reduces compression marks, and occasionally moving larger pieces of furniture helps prevent permanent indentation in the same spots.
Which rooms does Luxury Saxony work best in — and are there any it's not suited to?
Saxony works beautifully across a wide range of rooms, though like any carpet it performs best when matched to the right environment.
Bedrooms and master suites are where Saxony truly comes into its own. The deep even pile, the warmth underfoot first thing in the morning, the way it quiets the room acoustically and turns a bedroom into a genuine retreat — no other carpet type delivers quite the same experience. This is where the investment feels most justified every single day.
Living rooms are one of the most rewarding places to use it. A living room with a quality Saxony carpet has a warmth and refinement that's immediately noticeable the moment you walk in. The depth of colour, the gentle sheen, the way the pile responds to light and movement — it elevates the whole room in a way that's difficult to achieve with any other flooring choice. A denser, heavier specification is recommended for living rooms to handle the footfall comfortably.
Dining rooms work well, particularly rooms used for occasions and entertaining rather than heavy daily family use. The refined finish creates exactly the right atmosphere for the evenings and moments that matter. For dining rooms that see spillages from young children or chairs on castors regularly, it's worth discussing the options with our team first.
Hallways and stairs — in a lightly used hallway or on stairs in a moderate-traffic home, a dense Saxony looks absolutely stunning and performs well. For busy family hallways and heavily trafficked staircases however, a more hardwearing construction is generally the wiser long-term choice. Our Textured and Tough range is specifically built for those conditions and will maintain its appearance far more reliably under that level of daily use.
Children's bedrooms — for teenagers and older children whose room functions more as a personal space, Saxony is a wonderful choice. For younger children where the floor doubles as a play surface, a more hardwearing option may serve better in the short term. Our team will give you an honest steer — the right answer depends entirely on the child and the household.
The bottom line is that Saxony rewards the rooms it's matched to correctly. Come in and talk to us — we'll always give you a straight answer rather than simply point you towards the most expensive option.
With a thick pile Saxony carpet, will I need to get my doors trimmed before my new carpet is fitted?
Possibly — and it's worth thinking about before your fitting day rather than on it. A new carpet, particularly a deeper pile like Saxony or a thicker underlay combination, will raise the floor level slightly and can cause doors to drag or catch on the new surface. Whether this affects your doors depends on how much clearance they currently have underneath.
Our fitters are experienced professionals who are happy to remove doors to make fitting easier and rehang them once the carpet is in place. However, trimming doors is a carpentry job rather than a fitting job — it's not something our fitters are able to do on the day. If your doors are likely to need trimming, it's best to arrange this separately in advance so everything is ready for a smooth, straightforward fit.
Taking care of this beforehand means your fitting day runs smoothly and you can enjoy your new carpet straight away — without having to wait for a carpenter to follow up afterwards.
